The two shows are up for best musical and direction, alongside nods for Ana Gasteyer and Sara Chase in <em>Schmigadoon!<\/em> and Shoshana Bean and Ali Louis Bourzgui <em>in The Lost Boys. <\/em>The revival of <em>Ragtime<\/em> followed with 11 nominations, followed by Arthur Miller\u2019s <em>Death of a Salesman<\/em> and <em>Cats: The Jellicle Ball<\/em> with nine each.\u00a0  \t<\/p>\n<p> \tIn addition to <em>The Lost Boys <\/em>and <em>Schmigadoon!, Titanique, <\/em>an Off-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/broadway\/\" id=\"auto-tag_broadway_1\" data-tag=\"broadway\">Broadway<\/a> hit that reimagines Titanic as told by Celine Dion, and <em>Two Strangers (Carry A Cake Across New York)<\/em>, a two-hander rom-com about two strangers running around New York, were also nominated for best musical. The category <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/lifestyle\/arts\/2026-tony-awards-nominations-snubs-surprises-1236586424\/\">left off<\/a> possible contenders, <em>Beaches<\/em> and the Kristin-Chenoweth led<em> The Queen of Versailles,<\/em> which ended its run early this winter, in a slim year for musicals.<\/p>\n<p> \tThe best play nominees are <em>Balusters,<\/em> centered on the escalating grievances of a suburban Homeowners Association; <em>Giant, <\/em>centered on a book review written by Roald Dahl that some see as antisemitic; <em>Liberation, <\/em>fresh off of its Pulitzer Prize win and centered on a feminist group in the 1970s; and <em>Little Bear Ridge Road<\/em>, about an estranged aunt and her nephew reconnecting during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p> \t<em>Cats: The Jellicle Ball<\/em>, <em>Ragtime<\/em> and <em>The Rocky Horror Show<\/em> all received nominations for best revival of a musical, while <em>Chess<\/em>, starring Lea Michele, Aaron Tveit and Nicholas Christopher was left off the list.<em> Chess <\/em>cast members Christopher, Hannah Cruz and Bryce Pinkham all received noms, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/lifestyle\/arts\/2026-tony-awards-nominations-snubs-surprises-1236586424\/\">Michele missing the nod.\u00a0<\/a>  \t<\/p>\n<p> \tAmong the Hollywood names receiving nods, Daniel Radcliffe was nominated for his role in the one-man show<em> Every Brilliant Thin<\/em>g; Rose Byrne was nominated for her role in the comedic revival of <em>Fallen Angels<\/em>, landing the nod just months after her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/2026-oscars-nominees-list-1236481075\/\">Oscar nomination for <em>If I Had Legs I\u2019d Kick You<\/em><\/a>; Nathan Lane was nominated for role as Willy Loman in <em>Death of a Salesman<\/em>; John Lithgow was nominated for his role as Roald Dahl in <em>Giant<\/em>, after winning the Olivier award for the role last year; Carrie Coon was nominated for her role in paranoid thriller <em>Bug<\/em>; and Alden Ehrenreich was nominated for his role in the acerbic pla<em>y Becky Shaw.<\/em><\/p>\n<p> \tWith nods for producing both <em>Death of a Salesman<\/em> and<em> Little Bear Ridge Road<\/em>, powerhouse Broadway and Hollywood producer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/lifestyle\/arts\/scott-rudin-tony-nominations-bullying-1236584743\/\">Scott Rudin scored two nominations<\/a> as he makes his return to the industry after being exiled roughly five years ago amid allegations of bullying and abusive behavior toward employees.<\/p>\n<p> \tPink will host the 79th Annual Tony <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/awards\/\" id=\"auto-tag_awards_1\" data-tag=\"awards\">Awards<\/a> on June 7 at Radio City Music Hall.
