There is good news, despite the bad news.<\/p>\n

Dolly Parton\u2019s health challenges<\/a> have been making headlines since last year.<\/p>\n

At one point, she even revealed that she didn\u2019t expect to make it to her 80th birthday party<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With all of this in mind, Dolly having to cancel her next big gig seemed like a foregone conclusion.<\/p>\n

\u2018Some good news and a little bad news\u2019<\/h2>\n

After much consideration, Dolly has canceled her upcoming Las Vegas residency.<\/p>\n

The octogenarian American treasure addressed fans directly, posting to \u30a4\u30f3\u30b9\u30bf\u30b0\u30e9\u30e0<\/a> starting with this caption.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you for standing by me,\u201d she wrote, \u201cand showing me so much love and support over the past year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dolly shared: \u201cI\u2019ve still got some healing to do, but I am on my way!\u201d<\/p>\n

She concluded with a hopeful: \u201cSee you soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

The center of attention, however, was a video, in which a fully costumed Dolly addressed her fans and followers with an upbeat and vibrant attitude, likely meant to reassure us all.<\/p>\n

She told the world that she has \u201csome good news and a little bad news\u201d to offer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m responding really well to meds and treatments, and I\u2019m improving every day,\u201d Dolly reported.<\/p>\n

She explained why she has had to bow out of her Vegas residency and all other live performances.<\/p>\n

Her medications and treatments \u201cmake me a little bit swimmy headed,\u201d she added, attributing the folksy phrasing to her grandmother.<\/p>\n

She has a lot of \u2018personality\u2019<\/h2>\n

When Dolly performs live, she holds banjos, guitars, and other heavy items.<\/p>\n

She also wears 5-inch stilettos on stage. That is a precarious combo.<\/p>\n

The national icon quipped that her \u201cbig, uh, personality\u201d could also risk toppling her if she gets a dizzy spell.<\/p>\n

Dolly is making a reference to her fairly famous bust.<\/p>\n

No one needs to explain<\/em> why medical treatments make them unable to perform. But at least she cracked a joke and seems to be in good spirits.<\/p>\n

As you may have noticed from Dolly\u2019s post, she has not specified on the nature of her illness \u2014 or on her treatments.<\/p>\n

Just for the record, she does not have to.<\/p>\n

Many have jumped to conclusions, but unless she drops actual hints, we don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

(And no, \u201cthe meds make her dizzy sometimes<\/em>\u201d does not really narrow it down. We suppose that we can rule out seasickness<\/em>, though.)<\/p>\n
