We can only guess.<\/p>\n

Whatever the reason, Christina Ricci is throwing shade in her direction. And people are eating it up.<\/p>\n

It started with Met Gala pics<\/h2>\n

On \u30a4\u30f3\u30b9\u30bf\u30b0\u30e9\u30e0<\/a>, Variety <\/em>posted a series of photos from the Met Gala.<\/p>\n

As you can see below, these snaps featured Katy Perry alongside Heated Rivalry<\/em> star Connor Storrie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The caption then explains that the actor was, in one photo, \u201cjokingly hiding his face to match her look.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yes, Perry\u2019s costume allowed her to bare her face at times.<\/p>\n

Perry wore a face mask that looks like something out of Star Wars<\/em>\u2018 now-nearly-apocryphal The Old Republic era, obscuring all of her face \u2014 except when she chose to bare it. <\/p>\n

With the latch that opens, the effect is reminiscent of a locket with someone\u2019s photograph inside.<\/p>\n

(Perry\u2019s ensemble was also a little reminiscent of a futuristic nun, which might be awkward for her, considering her infamous real estate battles<\/a> leading to people joking that she \u201ckilled\u201d a nun.)<\/p>\n

It was no surprise for Perry to avoid the Met Gala boycott<\/a> over Trump ally Jeff Bezos essentially buying his wife\u2019s role in the charitable fundraiser.<\/p>\n

After all, she let him send her to space. She did return, and dug herself into a deeper PR hole with some of her commentary.<\/p>\n

\u2018Yikes\u2019<\/h2>\n

What is now drawing more eyes than Perry\u2019s look is one comment in particular.<\/p>\n

\u201cYikes,\u201d Christina Ricci left as a public comment under Variety\u2019s post.<\/p>\n

In theory, it could be disapproval of Perry\u2019s wardrobe or could even be directed at Connor Storrie.<\/p>\n

(Commenters have observed that Storrie appeared to be reluctantly posing for a pic out of politeness, but that is pure speculation.)<\/p>\n

Most assume that Ricci is referring to Perry. Not to her costume, but to her whole vibe<\/em>. To the singer as a person.<\/p>\n

As we said, Perry has been sort of cringe for a while. <\/p>\n

Some of that was unfair, though the singer has made some bad calls, had some avoidable PR moments, and overall gave the vibe of someone trying too hard.<\/p>\n

However, it has only been a few weeks since Ruby Rose accused Perry of sexually assaulting her at a nightclub in Melbourne back in 2010.<\/p>\n

Perry has denied<\/a> the allegation. Police are investigating. And Rose explained that she kept quiet, in part, because Perry had helped her to obtain a visa.<\/p>\n
