\tA new cast of characters is joining the We Were Liars<\/a><\/em> universe for the Prime Video\u2019s series second season. <\/p>\n

\tJosh Dallas, Costa D\u2019Angelo, Parker Lapaine, Peyton List, Elysia Roorbach and Madison Wolfe have been cast as series regulars for the show\u2019s second season. <\/p>\n

\tThe series, which was\u00a0renewed for a second season<\/a>\u00a0last year, will follow E. Lockhart\u2019s 2022 prequel novel,\u00a0Family of Liars<\/em>\u00a0as well as feature new stories about the current cast of characters, the author teased. <\/p>\n

\t\u201cThe prequel novel is a flashback to when the mom characters are teenagers. So you will see a whole story about that, but you will still see Cadence, you will still see Johnny, and you will still see all those sisters as adults. The showrunners are cooking up new stories for them,\u201d E. Lockhart told\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter.<\/em><\/a> \t<\/p>\n

\tDallas will portray a young Harris, following David Morse who starred as Harris Sinclair in season one. Tell Me Lies <\/em>star D\u2019Angelo will star as Pfeff, a \u201cNew England college kid with a mysterious edge.\u201d Parker will portray a young Carrie, a role first played by Mamie Gummer in season one; List will play a young Tipper, originally portrayed by Wendy Crewson; Roorbach will take on the role of a young Penny, first played by Caitlin FitzGerald; and Wolfe will portray a young Bess, originally played by Candice King.<\/p>\n

\tSeason two will see Emily Alyn Lind return as Cadence. <\/p>\n

\t\u201cIn an effort to confront her truth, Cadence returns to Beechwood. As she digs deeper into family secrets, she learns about the Sinclair Sisters\u2019 summer of 1999 \u2014 a summer rife with first love, rivalry, and even murder. In flashbacks, we see Carrie, Penny, and Bess navigate their own teenage summer, as they come to terms with their past in the present day,\u201d the season two logline reads. \t<\/p>\n

\tE. Lockhart\u2019s\u00a0We Were Liars\u00a0<\/em>book was released in 2014 and became a best-seller. The novel centered on the affluent Sinclair family who spend every summer on Beechwood, a wealthy fictional island off of Martha\u2019s Vineyard. The first season of the\u00a0Prime Video<\/a>\u00a0series adaptation from Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie starred Lind, Esther McGregor, Shubham Maheshwari and Joseph Zada.<\/p>\n

\tSeason two is written and executive produced by co-showrunners Plec and MacKenzie. Also executive producing are Emily Cummins for My So-Called Company, Brett Matthews, Marguerite MacIntyre and E. Lockhart. <\/p>\n
