\tNate Bargatze<\/a> \u2014 one of the world\u2019s top-selling stand-up comedians \u2014 wants to make his upcoming family movie The Breadwinner<\/a><\/em> affordable for everyone to watch on he big screen. <\/p>\n

\tThe TriStar and Sony release opens in theaters on May 29, and marks his most high-profile project since\u00a0hosting the Emmy Awards<\/a>\u00a0ceremony in September. <\/p>\n

\tBased on an original script he wrote with Dan Lagana and directed by Eric Appel, The Breadwinner<\/em>\u00a0stars Bargatze as salesman Nate Wilcox and Mandy Moore as Katie, who is the ultimate mom. But when Katie\u2019s household invention leads to a once-in-a-lifetime deal on\u00a0Shark Tank<\/em>\u00a0and takes her on a prolonged business trip, Nate has to\u00a0figure out how to keep the house from (literally) falling apart. He and his kids soon learn that while he may not do it like mom, he can figure out how to do it his way. \t<\/p>\n

\tStudios can\u2019t dictate pricing, but cinema operators have indicated they will treat The Breadwinner<\/em> the same way they supported discounted pricing for showing of 80 for Brady<\/em>. Ticket prices continue to rise every year, sparking concern among Hollywood studios that movie attendance will never return to pre-pandemic levels.<\/p>\n

\tBefore announcing the \u201cNate Rate\u201d in a video posted on Instagram, insiders say AMC Theatres, the largest chain in the country, was among a number of circuits who had already agreed to use matinee pricing for showings of The Breadwinnner<\/em>, while Cinemark may discount prices by as much as 25 percent. Pricing and availability will vary, so audiences will need to check their local listings. \t<\/p>\n

My movie The Breadwinner<\/em> is coming out May 29 and I\u2019ve got something very exciting that I wanted to let you know,\u201d Bargatze said in his post. \u201cSo the Nate Rate is a special kind of lower ticket price because we want everyone to come out to this movie. This movie is for your grandparents, grandkids, aunts, uncles, friends, sister\u2026anybody. Your dog. Cats I think will love this movie, specifically.\u00a0Anybody that wants to come out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\tWhen interviewed for\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter\u2019<\/em>s\u00a02025 cover story on Bargatze<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 hailed as the \u201cNicest Man in Standup\u201d \u2014 TriStar Pictures<\/a> president Nicole Brown discussed\u00a0The Breadwinner\u2019<\/em>s appeal for the Sony label. \u201cThe idea of his first film being so personal and authentic to him and his comedy felt like the perfect foray, and he\u2019d really identified a space,\u201d she said. \u201cHe was like, \u2018I want to be able to watch a film with my whole family.
