\tMatt Damon<\/a> got a quick start to his hosting duties on Saturday Night Live<\/a><\/em> by first appearing in the cold open.<\/p>\n

\tThe Good Will Hunting<\/em> actor kicked the episode off by portraying Brett Kavanaugh, an associate justice of the Supreme Court, alongside Colin Jost<\/a> as Pete Hegseth. The two Trump-backed officials met up at a bar where they agreed that they \u201care both kicking ass right now.\u201d <\/p>\n

\t\u201cCan you believe I just like started a war?\u201d Jost\u2019s Hegseth asked. \u201cCan you believe I ended abortion? Your body, my choice,\u201d Damon\u2019s Kavanaugh said. \t<\/p>\n

\tThe two discussed the ongoing Iran war, however Damon quipped that \u201cthe real war right now is the war against male loneliness.\u201d <\/p>\n

\t\u201cI just wish there were more people in this administration who could really hang,\u201d he added, to which Aziz Ansari<\/a> joined to make a surprise cameo once more as Kash Patel, the director of the FBI, after popping up during last week\u2019s episode<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\t\u201cDoes this bar take cash?\u201d Ansari joked. \u201cSo, what\u2019s up? Are we wilding out tonight, or what?\u201d<\/p>\n

\tAnsari\u2019s Patel continued to rave about their festivities, adding, \u201cSeriously, we\u2019re all living the American dream. I\u2019m the first person in my family to go to college parties many years after graduating.\u201d <\/p>\n

\tThe faux Supreme Court justice then let his buddies in on a big secret. \u201cHey, since we\u2019re opening up, can I tell you guys something top secret?\u201d he asked, before revealing, \u201cWe\u2019re gonna let Trump do a third term.\u201d<\/p>\n

\t\u201cI thought that was unconstitutional,\u201d Jost\u2019s Hegseth said. <\/p>\n

\t\u201cYeah, it was,\u201d Damon said. \u201cBut Trump found the original Constitution and at the end he wrote, \u2018Sike!’\u201d \t<\/p>\n

\tDamon joined the three-timers club<\/a> on Saturday night, marking his (you guessed it) third time hosting the sketch comedy series. It was his first time on SNL<\/a><\/em> in a little over seven years; he previously hosted in December 2018, and made his debut in October 2002.<\/p>\n

\tThe Academy Award winner is gearing up for a starring turn in Christopher Nolan\u2019s The Odyssey<\/em>, which hits theaters this summer on July 17. During his opening monologue, he joked about the length of time between his SNL<\/em> stint and the debut of the new film. <\/p>\n

\t\u201cI\u2019m really excited because I have a new movie coming out. It\u2019s called The Odyssey<\/em>,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd it\u2019s in theaters not this weekend, not next weekend, but nine weekends from now. Mid-July, baby.\u201d<\/p>\n

\tDamon also addressed that his hosting gig took place on the day before Mother\u2019s Day. \u201cI know normally SNL<\/em> flies all the cast moms in for the show, first class, no expense spared. Apparently that was gonna happen again this year, but then Spirit Airlines shut down. So for all of you waiting to see the cast moms, I\u2019m sorry, it ain\u2019t happening tonight.\u201d <\/p>\n

\tHe also delivered a special message for all the viewers who \u201cdidn\u2019t get your mother a gift.\u201d <\/p>\n

\t\u201cHey there, it\u2019s me, Matt Damon. I bet you thought your kid forgot to get you a Mother\u2019s Day gift. No, this is your gift, a personal message from me,\u201d Damon said. \u201cBut wait, I\u2019m confused. Your kid asked me to make a video for their mom\u2026 But you\u2019re their sister, right?\u201d \t<\/p>\n

\tSeason 51 of SNL<\/em><\/a> is nearing its end, with Damon serving as the second-to-last host of the installment with musical guest Noah Kahan<\/a>. Will Ferrell will host the finale show, alongside Paul McCartney.
