Back in February, Nicole \u201cSnooki\u201d Polizzi revealed her cervical cancer diagnosis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was a shock to the 38-year-old Jersey Shore<\/em> star and to her fans.<\/p>\n

Now, she\u2019s opening up about her treatment plans, including an upcoming hysterectomy.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s scary. But fear is what had her avoiding screenings until it was almost too late. She can do this.<\/p>\n

Stage 1 cervical cancer<\/h2>\n

Speaking to People<\/a><\/em>, Nicole Polizzi explains that she reacted to her stage 1 cervical cancer diagnosis in a very understandable way.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a breakdown,\u201d she described. \u201cI got to my car and I called my mom hysterically crying, thinking the worst.\u201d<\/p>\n

She revealed that she had ignored her doctor\u2019s advice, putting off getting a new Pap smear for over a year before this appointment.<\/p>\n

That bad news came in February. The good news is that it hasn\u2019t spread.<\/p>\n

The more complex news is that Polizzi will need to undergo a hysterectomy in these coming months. After that, she won\u2019t need any further treatment.<\/p>\n
