Seventy-seven union members voted to ratify the three-year deal, while 6 members voted not to ratify.<\/p>\n<p> \t\u201cTogether, the members of\u00a0WGSU\u00a0secured over $500,000 in wage increases across our 115-plus member bargaining unit,\u201d WGSU bargaining committee co-chair Missy Brown said in a statement. \u201cBy August of 2027,\u00a0WGSU\u00a0members will see their salaries improve by a minimum of 12 percent across the board.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> \t<em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> has reached out to the WGA West for comment.<\/p>\n<p> \tThe union\u2019s inaugural agreement, which was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/writers-guild-west-strikes-tentative-deal-staff-union-1236530491\/\">announced Friday,<\/a> resolves two issues that became major sticking points during the staff strike: seniority provisions and a no-strike clause. According to WGSU, the contract calls for the WGA West to take years of service into account during layoffs and \u201cprotects concerted activity\u201d with its no-strike clause. <\/p>\n<p> \tThe deal additionally offers minimum rate increases of at least 12 percent over the course of the contract, raises the salary floor for unionized members from $43,000 to $57,000 a year, provides a \u201clongevity increase\u201d for staffers who stay with the union for specific periods of time and establishes a wage scale similar to the one adhered to by the WGA East, according to WGSU. The contract also includes just cause provisions, a grievance procedure, AI protections and language surrounding temporary and contract staffers.<\/p>\n<p> \tAfter a nearly three-month strike <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/writers-guild-west-union-fight-1236580326\/\">that got ugly<\/a>, the deal additionally creates a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/labor\/\">labor<\/a>-management committee tasked with creating \u201chealthy worksite communication between staff and Guild leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> \t\u201cThis was a long time coming.
