We have tragic news to report from the world of reality television.<\/p>\n

Scott Probst \u2014 the brother of Survivor<\/em> host Jeff Probst \u2014 has passed away.<\/p>\n

He was just 58 years old.<\/p>\n

News of Scott\u2019s death comes courtesy of a Facebook post from Jeff\u2019s other brother, Brent.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome sad news, our brother Scott is no longer with us,\u201d Brent wrote (via Page Six<\/a>). \u201cHe was a great brother, son and friend. I will miss him so much. I\u2019m so sad he is gone.\u201d<\/p>\n

No cause of death was given.<\/p>\n

Scott worked closely with Jeff, taking on various roles in Survivor<\/em>\u2018s art department, property department, and camera and electrical department between 2006 and 2012.<\/p>\n

He also worked in the gaming industry, serving as production coordinator on 2003\u2019s Medal of Honor: Rising Sun <\/em>and as producer on 2005\u2019s Medal of Honor: European Assault<\/em>, and 2010\u2019s Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight<\/em>.<\/p>\n

He wasn\u2019t the only member of the Probst family to work on the show. Brent\u2019s daughter, Abigail Probst, is currently a member of the production staff\u2019s \u201cDream Team.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cShe kicks ass,\u201d Jeff\u00a0told People<\/a>\u00a0of Abigail\u2019s efforts. \u201cShe came in with a last name that put a little bit of a spotlight on her, but she got the job on her own. She got asked back on her own.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jeff rarely speaks of his family, but he has been open about his fondness for his childhood:<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I know it\u2019s a little weird because the last name is Probst, but had she not earned it, she wouldn\u2019t be back,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve lived in Seattle, New York and Los Angeles and traveled all over the world with \u2018Survivor,\u2019 but there is nowhere else I would have rather grown up than Wichita, Kansas,\u201d he told the Topeka Capital-Journal<\/em> in 2016 (via Page Six).<\/p>\n

\u201cI had great friendships. I made great memories, and I was raised with strong values,\u201d he added. \u201cI choose to believe those early years gave me the foundation I would later need to withstand the challenges of Hollywood.\u201d<\/p>\n

Survivor<\/em> previously paid tribute to Jeff\u2019s mom, Barbara, when she passed away in 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cDedicated to Barb, the biggest \u2018Survivor\u2019 fan of all time,\u201d read the text on-screen in memoriam at the end of a Season 47 episode. \u201cSee you on our next adventure.\u201d<\/p>\n
