\tJack Taylor, the actor from Oregon who found fame in European horror\/fantasy films and worked for directors including John Milius, Roman Polanski, Ridley Scott, Milos Forman<\/a> and Jes\u00fas Franco, has died. He was 99.<\/p>\n

\tTaylor, who lived in the Chamber\u00ed district of Madrid for more than six decades, died Tuesday, the Spanish newspaper El Mundo<\/em> reported<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\tTaylor portrayed a priest alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Milius\u2019 Conan the Barbarian<\/em> (1982) and an antique-book collector opposite Johnny Depp in Polanski\u2019s The Ninth Gate<\/em> (1999), and he appeared in Ridley Scott\u2019s 1492: Conquest of Paradise<\/em> (1992) and Forman\u2019s Goya\u2019s Ghost<\/em> (2006) as well. \t<\/p>\n

\tIn Spain, he acted in several films directed by Franco, including the X-rated Succubis<\/em> (1968) and Eugenia<\/em> (1970), the Christopher Lee<\/a>-starring Count Dracula<\/em> (1970), Night of the Blood Monster<\/em> (1970), Sex Charade<\/em> (1972), The Vengeance of Doctor Mabuse<\/em> (1972), Female Vampire<\/em> (1973), Sexy Sisters<\/em> (1977) and Voodoo Passion<\/em> (1977).<\/p>\n

\tHe was born George Brown Randall on Oct. 21, 1926, in Oregon City, a suburb of Portland. After a year in San Francisco, he came to Los Angeles and appeared with Marilyn Monroe on a 1953 episode of CBS\u2019 The Jack Benny Program<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\tFinding the going tough in Hollywood, Taylor drove to Mexico, quickly learned the language and found work in films south of the border, including The Ivory Tower<\/em> (1958), Nostradamus y el Destructor de Monstruos<\/em> (1962) and two features featuring the masked superhero wrestler Neutr\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

\tIn 1961, he arrived in Madrid to perform onstage in the Mexican musical comedy La Pelirroja<\/em> (The Redhead) and afterward decided to make the country his home. Two years later, he played one of Julius Caesar\u2019s (Rex Harrison) slaves in Cleopatra<\/em> (1963). \u201cIf you blink, you won\u2019t see me, but I\u2019m there,\u201d he said. \t<\/p>\n

\tTaylor\u2019s film r\u00e9sum\u00e9 also included Robert Siodmak\u2019s Custer of the West<\/em> (1967), The Mummy\u2019s Revenge<\/em> (1975), Pieces<\/em> (1982), Monte Hellman<\/a>\u2019\u306e The Iguana<\/em> (1988), Wax<\/em> (2014) and Buffet Libre<\/em> (2025).<\/p>\n
