According to the local audience measurement leader,\u00a0YouTube had the largest ad-supported reach in Canada\u00a0of streaming platforms on offer to Canadians, which includes local streamer Crave.<\/p>\n<p> \tThe fall 2005 snapshot of the Canadian streaming TV landscape follows on U.S. data from The Gauge report by Nielsen that has YouTube <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/streaming-record-high-july-2025-nielsen-gauge-1236347289\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/streaming-record-high-july-2025-nielsen-gauge-1236347289\/\">as number one<\/a> in streaming watch time in the U.S. market against Netflix, Disney and Prime Video, among others.<\/p>\n<p> \tYouTube\u2019s dominance in the Canadian TV market follows a splintering of the traditional cable bundle, allowing domestic TV viewers to increasingly pay for streaming content they covet, and with ads to lower subscription costs. \u201cIn an era of ample entertainment choices, Canadians choose to watch what they love.\u00a0And more than anywhere else, they are choosing YouTube,\u201d Peter Hand, head of video strategy at YouTube Canada, said in a <a rel=\"nofollow\" data-id=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/intl\/en-ca\/company-news\/outreach-initiatives\/the-heart-of-entertainment-canadians-are-choosing-youtube-more-than-ever\/\" data-type=\"link\" href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/intl\/en-ca\/company-news\/outreach-initiatives\/the-heart-of-entertainment-canadians-are-choosing-youtube-more-than-ever\/\" target=\"_blank\">company post<\/a> on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p> \tThe Google platform which relies on advertising to drive revenues predictably played up Youtube\u2019s appeal to Canadian marketers. \u201cFor brands, this is about more than just reaching a massive audience; it\u2019s about being invited into a space where viewers are already highly engaged and happy to be there,\u201d Hand argued. <\/p>\n<p> \tYouTube Canada told <em>\u30cf\u30ea\u30a6\u30c3\u30c9\u30fb\u30ea\u30dd\u30fc\u30bf\u30fc<\/em> it will release data from the next Numeris ranking of domestic TV distributors later this summer tpo indicate whether its dominance of Canadian eyeballs and attention can be sustained.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>YouTube is now winning the Canadian streaming TV wars, according to Numeris, the country\u2019s TV industry statistics collector.
