A Tennessee man named Dalton Eatherly \u2014 better known online as Chud the Builder \u2014 has been arrested and charged with attempted murder.<\/p>\n

The controversial influencer was taken into police custody on Wednesday after he allegedly shot a man outside a courthouse.<\/p>\n

Police were called to the scene after receiving a call indicating that two men had exchanged gunfire.<\/p>\n

Eatherly allegedly livestreamed the entire incident, claiming that he was jumped outside of the courthouse.<\/p>\n

According to TMZ<\/a>, he was in court for a civil suit pertaining to unpaid debts.<\/p>\n

He told police that he accidentally shot himself during the altercation.<\/p>\n

Eatherly has built a following by posting unabashedly racist content on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had to defend myself by shooting him,\u201d Eatherly said during the livestream, according to CNN<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He alleged that the victim was part of a group of men who were \u201claughing\u201d and \u201cpointing at me.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI have PTSD,\u201d the victim allegedly remarked to Eatherly.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe said, \u2018You start saying all that chimp out s\u2013t to me and \u2018imma hit you,\u2019 and he hit me, he started whaling on me,\u201d Eatherly said.<\/p>\n

CNN notes that Eatherly has made several racist videos in which he referred to Black people as chimps.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s unfortunate that incidents like this are happening in our community,\u201d Montgomery County Sheriff John Fuson said in a statement. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis kind of violence won\u2019t be tolerated, and our office will work to make sure those responsible are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.\u201d<\/p>\n

The incident took place just days after Eatherly was arrested and charged with theft of services for allegedly skipping out on a nearly $400 tab in a Nashville restaurant.<\/p>\n

He continued streaming throughout that entire incident, as well.<\/p>\n
