\tHemdale Film Corporation has acquired North American rights to indie film<\/a> Sinatra! Eternity<\/em>, The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> has learned. The late Michael Madsen<\/a> leads the cast that includes Rico Simonini,\u00a0Eric Roberts<\/a>, Lukas Haas\u00a0and\u00a0Harry Dean Stanton for the drama movie from directors Giorgos Papatheodorou and Michael Oblowitz. <\/p>\n

\tSinatra! Eternity<\/em> stars Madsen as journalist Harry Cohn, who sets out to interview an aging Sinatra as the famed singer recounts highlights from his life and career. Simonini portrays Sinatra and also produces the film. \t<\/p>\n

\tHemdale, the Oscar-winning studio that was recently revived as a releasing division under Hannover House, acquired the title on the first day of Cannes<\/a>. The companies plan to release Sinatra! Eternity<\/em> theatrically in major U.S. and Canadian markets in October, with a streaming release eyed for December. Greece\u2019s Crisis Cinema represents the feature that will screen next week at the Cannes Market<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\t\u201cSinatra! Eternity<\/em>\u00a0presents an insightful look at one of the world\u2019s best-known celebrities,\u201d says Hemdale Films and Hannover House CEO Eric Parkinson. \u201cWe believe the film has theatrical potential and wide appeal as a streaming release.\u201d <\/p>\n

\tConsidered one of the defining performers of the 20th century, Sinatra rose to prominence as a singer in the swing era, with his Grammy-winning career including such hits as \u201cMy Way\u201d and \u201cI\u2019ve Got You Under My Skin.\u201d Sinatra went on to star in films like From Here to Eternity<\/em>, for which he won an Oscar, and The Manchurian Candidate<\/em> before his death in 1998 at age 82. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
