Justice delayed is justice denied.<\/p>\n

In the 1990s, Richard Glossip was convicted of murder-for-hire and sentenced to death in a case that almost entirely hinged upon the testimony of a teenage murderer.<\/p>\n

It was not until this year \u2014 nearly three decades after he first went on Oklahoma\u2019s death row \u2014 that Glossip was permitted to get a new trial.<\/p>\n

After 29 years and three times strapped to the table (before last-minute reprieves), he\u2019s out on bail \u2014 thanks to one of the country\u2019s most famous influencers.<\/p>\n

The state nearly killed this man three times<\/h2>\n

Film producer Scott Budnick took to \u30a4\u30f3\u30b9\u30bf\u30b0\u30e9\u30e0<\/a> late on Thursday, May 14 to share an announcement.<\/p>\n

\u201cBREAKING NEWS \u2013 AFTER 29 YEARS INNOCENT ON OKLAHOMA\u2019S DEATH ROW,\u201d Budnick began, \u201cRICHARD GLOSSIP WALKED OUT AS A FREE MAN THIS AFTERNOON!!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Admittedly, freedom <\/em>in this case was not free. Cash bail continues to separate the rich from the poor.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, he has to be released on bail,\u201d Budnick added.<\/p>\n

The good news, he continued, is that Glossip\u2019s bail \u201cwas GRACIOUSLY paid for immediately by @kimkardashian who\u2019s been fighting for Rich\u2019s freedom for years.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/blockquote>\n

\u201cEven though EVERY Democrat and Republican in OK knew he was innocent,\u201d Budnick continued, \u201che was strapped to the execution table THREE times and three times given a last second reprieve.\u201d<\/p>\n

We do recommend that people look up a list of the legal absurdities that have haunted Glossip, including evidence that was never handed over, paper-thin arguments, and what appear to be numerous provable lies from the man who avoided the death penalty by testifying against him.<\/p>\n

\u201cTonight he is home in his wife Lea\u2019s arms, for the first time EVER,\u201d Budnick announced.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to @itsjasonflom and @kimkardashian for putting Richard\u2019s case on my radar,\u201d Budnick expressed. \u201cAnd for amplifying this injustice to millions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Budnick\u2019s caption concluded: \u201cNow that Rich\u2019s old conviction has been thrown out, the Oklahoma DA is trying to recharge him 30 years later. That is the next step of the fight. STAY TUNED.\u201d<\/p>\n

His case is infamous and extraordinary, only in part due to lack of evidence<\/h2>\n

In 1997, a man named Justin Sneed beat motel owner Barry Van Treese to death with a baseball bat.<\/p>\n

Though his initial statements did not mention Richard Glossip, he later claimed that Glossip \u2014 who worked as a manager at the motel (where Sneed worked as the maintenance man) \u2014 had hired him to do it.<\/p>\n

In testifying to this, Sneed received life without parole but avoided the death penalty for the savage killing.<\/p>\n

Even the twisted and corrupt version of the United States Supreme Court that is in power today could see that this case was a grievous miscarriage of justice.<\/p>\n

Last year, SCOTUS tossed out the conviction. Prosecutors are retrying him for murder \u2014 though it\u2019s unclear what evidence they plan to present.<\/p>\n
