Back in 2013, they starred in director Abdellatif Kechiche\u2019s <em>Blue Is the Warmest Color<\/em>, playing young women who share a sexually charged relationship. The film was an immediate sensation. Said <em>THR<\/em> critic Jordan Mintzer, \u201cSure to raise eyebrows with its showstopping scenes of unsimulated female copulation, the film is actually much more than that: It\u2019s a passionate, poignantly handled love story.\u201d  \t<\/p>\n<p> \tSome handicappers thought it might prove too risqu\u00e9 for that year\u2019s jury, headed by Steven Spielberg, but the jury stunned at the closing night ceremony by not only awarding the film the Palme d\u2019Or, but by also taking what it called \u201cthe exceptional step\u201d of declaring that the honor should be shared by the director and his two leads. At the press conference that followed, Exarchopoulos said of <em>Blue<\/em>: \u201cIt\u2019s universal. It\u2019s a love story. If it\u2019s also a hymn to tolerance, then that\u2019s all the more gratifying.\u201d Added Seydoux, \u201cWhat brought us together was the love that existed between us, and perhaps our sense of humor.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p> \tThere\u2019s a good chance the two will bump into each other on this year\u2019s red carpet. Exarchopoulos stars in Jeanne Herry\u2019s French drama <em>Another Day<\/em>, screening in competition.
