\tGrizz Chapman, best known for appearing on NBC\u2019s sitcom 30 Rock<\/a>,<\/em> has died. He was 52. <\/p>\n

\tChapman\u2019s co-star, Kevin Brown, on the series, confirmed in a Facebook post<\/a> that he died Friday. \u201cI regret to inform you that Mack Chapman aka Grizz Chapman passed today,\u201d he wrote in a caption of photos of them in the show. \u201cMay he RIP.\u201d <\/p>\n

\tFor all seven seasons, Chapman appeared on 30 Rock<\/em>. He played Grizz Griswold, a bodyguard and member of Tracy Jordan\u2019s (played by Tracy Morgan) entourage. Meanwhile, Brown played Tracy\u2019s other bodyguard, Dot Com. Chapman and Jordan met when Chapman was working as a bouncer at a strip club and they went on to become friends. \t<\/p>\n

\tBorn on April 16, 1974, in New York City, the actor, who stands seven feet tall, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> <\/em>in 2013 about the difficulties he\u2019s faced because of his height. <\/p>\n

\t\u201cI mean, why can\u2019t a seven-foot guy play a doctor?\u201d he asked rhetorically. \u201cWhy can\u2019t I be a teacher? Why can\u2019t I be a football coach? Why can\u2019t I be a cab driver? Anything. Anything else than that,\u201d he said. \u201cI can cry. I can do those things that they think the big guys can\u2019t do. So just give us a chance.\u201d<\/p>\n

\tChapman has also appeared in Tom McCarthy\u2019s (Spotlight<\/em>, 13 Reasons Why<\/em>) 2014 film, The Cobbler<\/a><\/em> alongside Adam Sandler and Steve Buscemi. Additional acting credits include Money Monster, Life of the Party, Blue Bloods, The Blacklist <\/em>and Common Sense Police,<\/em> among others. <\/p>\n

\tWhile a cause of death has yet to be announced, Chapman has previously struggled with health, kidney disease and received a kidney transplant in 2010. He also served as a spokesperson for the National Kidney Foundation. \t<\/p>\n
