\tWhile the cast and creator of Nobody Wants This<\/a><\/em> came out to celebrate season two<\/a> at an Emmys For Your Consideration event on Friday night, season three<\/a> was fresh on their minds after having just wrapped filming this week.<\/p>\n

\tKristen Bell<\/a>, Adam Brody<\/a>, Timothy Simons and Jackie Tohn joined creator Erin Foster<\/a> at the L.A. event, as Foster gave a tease at what they had cooked up in the new episodes. <\/p>\n

\t\u201cIt was important to me to show the back half of early romance when things get real and it\u2019s not always a fairytale, but it is a different kind of love story, it\u2019s a different kind of fairytale, which is like the stability and the trusting each other,\u201d she told The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t sound sexy but that is the foundation of a good relationship. So now that that\u2019s established and there\u2019s no more breaking up, there\u2019s no more like running to each other, now it\u2019s like, OK let\u2019s move forward and see what that looks like.\u201d \t<\/p>\n

\tBrody went so far as to declare the upcoming season \u201cmaybe the best one yet\u201d because of how comfortable the stars have become with each other and the writers knowing the actors more closely. Season three will also see some new additions<\/a> in recurring roles for\u00a0Sarah Silverman, Andrew Rannells and Keyla Monterroso Mejia, as well as Foster herself taking on a role as Nicole, a terminally single and chaotic mess.<\/p>\n

\t\u201cBecause I was originally supposed to be [Bell\u2019s character] Joanne and then I wasn\u2019t, I felt like everyone on the show kept wanting to figure out what I should play. At some point after season one, when I didn\u2019t think of anything for myself, I sort of walked away from it and thought, it\u2019s such a hard job to do, there\u2019s enough to keep me busy. I did not need to add that to my plate,\u201d Foster explained of her mindset while juggling work as a writer and executive producer. \u201cI was never planning on being anything in the show and acting in it. And then this character was written in the writer\u2019s room \u2014 nothing to do with me \u2014 and when I was like impersonating what I think she should be like, it became kind of clear, OK, I guess I should be playing Nicole.\u201d \t<\/p>\n

\tHowever, don\u2019t expect Leighton Meester to make another appearance on the show after her buzzy season two cameo<\/a>, as Foster confirms she\u2019s not in season three and her husband Brody noted, \u201cIt feels sort of one-time-ish but I wouldn\u2019t rule it out. But it doesn\u2019t feel like it\u2019s an integral part of the Noah and Joanne story\u201d in Meester\u2019s role as Bell\u2019s middle school rival.<\/p>\n

\tThere are still plenty of guest stars on the wish list though, with Foster giving her top pick to Adam Sandler<\/a> as one of the \u201ciconic Jews out there that I\u2019d love to get.\u201d Brody echoed, \u201cthe bigs \u2014 let\u2019s get Adam Sandler, let\u2019s get Barbra Streisand,\u201d as he emphasized, \u201cWe have so many good actors pass through, even in the small parts, because we film in L.A., because we\u2019re a show that\u2019s very watched. We really get our pick, a lot of people will come in for even a day or a scene, and so we get great people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\tTo round out the dream list, Tohn sees Streisand, Bette Midler, Susie Essman and Fran Drescher all as good options to play her character Esther\u2019s mother, and Simons shouted out Mandy Patinkin and Elliott Gould. The FYC event also included a panel conversation, moderated by Rannells, with Foster and the cast chatting alongside casting director Brett Greenstein, costume designer Negar Ali-Kline and music supervisor Jonathan Leahy. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
