We have tragic news to report from the world of television today.<\/p>\n

Grizz Chapman \u2014 the actor who played Tracy Morgan\u2019s lovable bodyguard on 30 Rock<\/em> \u2014 passed away on Friday at the age of 52.<\/p>\n

Now, new information has emerged about Chapman\u2019s harrowing final days.<\/p>\n

The news comes courtesy of Chapman\u2019s manager, Renee Glicker, who has shed light on the severe health struggles the actor had reportedly been battling behind the scenes for years.<\/p>\n

According to TMZ<\/a>, Chapman had been dealing with a number of serious medical issues and was, in the words of his manager, was \u201cjust struggling to stay alive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Glicker told the outlet that the actor had received a kidney transplant back in July 2010, but later needed a second transplant. <\/p>\n

Finding a match reportedly proved especially difficult because of Chapman\u2019s extraordinary size \u2014 the actor stood nearly seven feet tall.<\/p>\n

At this point, Chapman\u2019s exact cause of death has not been publicly confirmed.<\/p>\n

However, his manager reportedly believes there were likely multiple contributing factors tied to his declining health.<\/p>\n

News of Chapman\u2019s death first surfaced Thursday, when his longtime representative confirmed that the actor had passed away, leaving behind a grieving wife and two children. <\/p>\n

His cousin, Harlem Globetrotter Donte \u201cHammer\u201d Harrison, later shared that Chapman had spent years battling illness and dialysis treatments and died peacefully in his sleep.<\/p>\n

For sitcom fans, Chapman will always be remembered as one-half of Tracy Jordan\u2019s unforgettable entourage alongside Dot Com on 30 Rock<\/em>, where he appeared in dozens of episodes during the show\u2019s acclaimed seven-season run. <\/p>\n

His chemistry with Tracy Morgan helped turn a supporting role into a fan favorite.<\/p>\n

Beyond 30 Rock<\/em>, Chapman also appeared in shows such as Blue Bloods<\/em>, The Blacklist<\/em>, and The Good Fight<\/em>, while also creating his own YouTube sketch series, Grizz Chroniclez<\/em>.<\/p>\n
