\tStephen Amell<\/a> has shared the first promo for the upcoming Baywatch<\/a><\/em> reboot<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\tThe brief preview, posted to Amell\u2019s Instagram account on Saturday, features quick looks at Amell\u2019s Captain Hobie Buchannon, son of David Hasselhoff\u2019s Mitch Buchannon, as well as characters played by Brooks Nader<\/a>, Livvy Dunne and Jessica Belkin in the upcoming Fox<\/a> series. The promo, which teases \u201csame beach, new blood,\u201d features the iconic red swimsuits and slow-motion running of the original series. Amell captioned his post with, \u201cI dream in slow motion.\u201d \t<\/p>\n

\tThose who are eagerly awaiting the Baywatch<\/em> reboot may feel like they\u2019re living in slow motion, though, as they\u2019ll have to wait until January for the update to hit their screens.<\/p>\n

\tThe 12-episode series won\u2019t be ready for the fall but will debut in late January 2027<\/a>, and Fox is optimistic about a midseason launch for the revival.<\/p>\n

\t\u201cWe have a rich history and of launching series midseason,\u201d Fox president Michael Thorn said on a media conference call earlier this month. \u201cWe just did it most recently with Best Medicine and Memory of a Killer and Doc before that. It goes all the way back to 24 and Empire and the 9-1-1s and The Resident. Obviously, Baywatch is a huge, huge priority for us, and we think we have a great opportunity to set the show up for success [in midseason].\u201d<\/p>\n

\tBelkin plays Hobie\u2019s daughter Charlie Vale, who leaves her complicated home life in Texas and shows up on her father\u2019s doorstep in hopes of becoming a Baywatch lifeguard. \t<\/p>\n

\tDunne, making her professional acting debut in Baywatch<\/em>, plays junior lifeguard Grace. And Nader plays Selene, a Zuma Beach lifeguard and Hobie\u2019s adversary.<\/p>\n

\tThe cast of the reboot<\/a> also features Noah Beck, Shay Mitchell, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone, Luke Eisner, Nadia Gray, Charlie McElveen, Ashley Moore, Kylar Miranda as well as original Baywatch<\/em> castmembers David Chokachi and Erika Eleniak.<\/p>\n

\tMatt Nix (Burn Notice, True Lies<\/em>) serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside\u00a0McG (The O.C., Charlie\u2019s Angels<\/em>),\u00a0Michael Berk,\u00a0Greg Bonann,\u00a0Doug Schwartz, Dante Di Loreto and Mike Horowitz.\u00a0McG will also direct the first episode.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
