\tOff Campus<\/a><\/em> has skated its way to a strong debut for Prime Video<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\tThe Amazon-owned streamer says Off Campus<\/em>, based on Elle Kennedy\u2019s romance novel series<\/a>, has reached 36 million viewers worldwide over its first 12 days of release (including the Memorial Day weekend in the U.S.). The key word there is \u201creached\u201d \u2014 that\u2019s ratings-speak for the number of people who have watched at least a few minutes of the series, and it\u2019s the metric Prime Video most frequently publicizes when it releases internal viewer data. <\/p>\n

\tThe 36 million figure puts Off Campus<\/em> among the three biggest series debuts in Prime Video\u2019s history over 12 days, according to Amazon. It\u2019s behind only The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power<\/em> and Fallout<\/a><\/em>. \t<\/p>\n

\t\u201cObsession is officially in session\u00a0at Prime Video, thanks to the fans who have embraced\u00a0Off Campus<\/em>,\u201d said Peter Friedlander, head of global TV at Amazon MGM Studios. \u201cWe couldn\u2019t be happier to see such a passionate community come together around season one of creator Louisa Levy and co-showrunner Gina Fattore\u2019s interpretation\u00a0of Elle Kennedy\u2019s beloved story. When you earn trust and deliver for an audience, they show up \u2014 and they\u2019ve certainly done so for\u00a0Off Campus<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\tYoung women in particular have tuned in to Off Campus<\/em>: According to Prime Video, it has had the highest performance among women 18-34 of any series on the service. <\/p>\n

\tThe success of Off Campus<\/em> follows that of another hockey-centric romance, HBO Max and Crave\u2019s Heated Rivalry<\/a><\/em>, and comes amid a boomlet in romance series on or in the works at streaming platforms. \t<\/p>\n

\tSeason one of Off Campus<\/em> centers on the relationship between college students Hannah (Ella Bright), an introverted music major, and Garrett (Belmont Cameli), a hockey star. They originally make a deal to become a fake couple before developing very real feelings for each other.<\/p>\n

\tCreator Levy and Fattore are co-showunners of the series. They executive produce with Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen and James Seidman of Temple Hill, Leanna Billings of Billings Productions, and Neal Flaherty. Prime Video has already ordered a second season<\/a> of Off Campus<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
