In the process, the two uncover secrets of the past even as their undeniable attraction brings them closer together.  \t<\/p>\n<p> \tArash Amel (<em>A Private War, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare<\/em>) adapted the novel for the big screen.<\/p>\n<p> \tYarros wrote several romance stories prior to becoming a big name author with her <em>Fourth Wing<\/em> fantasy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/books\/\" id=\"auto-tag_books_1\" data-tag=\"books\">books<\/a>, <em>Things We Leave Unfinished<\/em> among them. Those novels have become <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/the-last-letter-rebecca-yarros-amazon-1236422883\/\">hot commodities<\/a> not just because of her name but also a resurgence of onscreen love stories.<\/p>\n<p> \tThe author is exec producing <em>Things We Leave Unfinished<\/em> through her production company Full Measures Productions. Also exec producing are Amel, through his shingle The Amel Company, along with Alex Young and Carly Kleinbart Elter of Hidden Pictures.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> \tLionsgate has found considerable success with adapting popular books. <em>The<\/em> <em>Housemaid<\/em>\u00a0was based on the novel by Freida McFadden and it recently won a seven-studio bidding war for the adaptation rights to\u00a0<em>The Correspondent<\/em> by Virginia Evans (Lieberman is also producing the latter). And the company has\u00a0<em>The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping<\/em>\u00a0set for release later this year.\u00a0  \t<\/p>\n<p> \t\u201cThea has an incredible gift for emotional storytelling and is the perfect filmmaker to bring Rebecca Yarros\u2019 sweeping, romantic, and heartbreaking story to the screen,\u201d said Lionsgate Motion Picutre Group president Erin Westerman in a statement to <em>The Hollywood Reporter.<\/em><\/p>\n<p> \tThe project is being overseen by Scott O\u2019Brien and Maria Ascanio at Lionsgate and Hidden Pictures\u2019 Kleinbart Elter, who brought in the project.<\/p>\n<p> \tSharrock, who began her career as a theatre director in England, directed <em>Ladies First<\/em>, the gender-reversal comedy starring Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike that debuted on Netflix last week.
