\tTed Danson<\/a> is headed back into a retirement community \u2014\u00a0but not to solve a mystery.<\/p>\n

\tThe Emmy winner and A Man on the Inside<\/em> star has joined the cast of an Apple TV<\/a> comedy series starring Elizabeth Banks<\/a>. Rob Delaney (Catastrophe<\/em>) also stars. <\/p>\n

\tThe currently untitled series from creators Liz Heldens and Matt Ward centers on Heidi (Banks), a recently divorced woman who is looking to \u201csecure a lively second act for herself and her kids,\u201d the show\u2019s logline reads. That\u2019s derailed to some degree when Heidi finds herself \u201ccoordinating her father\u2019s retirement community sexcapades,\u201d where she forms an alliance with the son of her dad\u2019s girlfriend. \t<\/p>\n

\tDanson will play Heidi\u2019s dad, he of the aforementioned sexcapades. Details of Delaney\u2019s role haven\u2019t been disclosed.<\/p>\n

\tThe setting (though not the premise) of the Apple TV series echoes that of A Man on the Inside\u2019<\/em>s first season, in which Danson\u2019s character is hired by a private investigator (played by Lilah Richcreek Estrada) to investigate a theft inside a retirement community. Netflix ordered a third season<\/a> of A Man on the Inside<\/em> earlier this year; Danson will appear on both shows. <\/p>\n

\tDanson\u2019s recent credits also include a recurring role on Curb Your Enthusiasm<\/em>, NBC\u2019s Mr. Mayor<\/em> and The Good Place<\/em> and voice work on American Dad<\/em>. The two-time Emmy winner is repped by WME, Constellation Media Group and Ziffren Brittenham.<\/p>\n

\t20th Television is producing the Apple TV series. Heldens (Will Trent<\/em>) and Ward (Best Medicine<\/em>) executive produce with Banks, Max Handelman and Krissy Wall for Brownstone Productions; pilot director Jonathan Krisel; Quinn Haberman of Heldens\u2019 Selfish Mermaid company; and Jason Winer and Jon Radler for Small Dog Picture Company.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
