{"id":2489,"date":"2026-05-28T08:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsmag.live\/2026\/05\/28\/gersh-buys-u-k-soccer-agency-plg-to-form-gersh-football-in-sports-expansion\/"},"modified":"2026-05-28T08:00:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T08:00:00","slug":"gersh-buys-u-k-soccer-agency-plg-to-form-gersh-football-in-sports-expansion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsmag.live\/ja\/2026\/05\/28\/gersh-buys-u-k-soccer-agency-plg-to-form-gersh-football-in-sports-expansion\/","title":{"rendered":"Gersh Buys U.K. Soccer Agency PLG to Form Gersh Football in Sports Expansion"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p> \tJust ahead of the 2026 FIFA soccer World Cup, talent agency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/gersh\/\" id=\"auto-tag_gersh_1\" data-tag=\"gersh\">Gersh<\/a> is expanding its soccer representation business with a U.K. acquisition and launch of a new soccer unit. <\/p>\n<p> \tThe agency\u2019s<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/gersh-buys-sports-agency-you-first-1236075257\/\"> You First Football<\/a> division has bought PLG to form Gersh Football,\u00a0a global soccer representation business that \u201cbrings together two established agencies under a unified banner and expands the agency\u2019s reach and infrastructure across the \u2018big five\u2019 major [soccer] leagues,\u201d the companies said.<\/p>\n<p> \tThose five leagues are the English Premier League, Italy\u2019s Serie A, Spain\u2019s LaLiga, Germany\u2019s Bundesliga and France\u2019s Ligue 1. <\/p>\n<p> \tFinancial terms of the acquisition weren\u2019t disclosed, but Gersh highlighted benefits such as \u201cgreater resources, enhanced operational capabilities and a stronger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/international\/\" id=\"auto-tag_international_1\" data-tag=\"international\">international<\/a> footprint.\u201d<\/p>\n<p> \tPLG has represented players such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jarrod Bowen\u202fand Scotland national team captain Andrew \u201cAndy\u201d Robertson, while You First\u2019s roster includes the likes of Fabi\u00e1n Ruiz, Alexia\u202fPutellas, Christoph Baumgartner,\u00a0Mikel Jauregizar and Luis\u202fde la Fuente.<\/p>\n<p> \tGersh Football will continue to be headquartered in Spain and will open a new office in the U.K., alongside its existing presence in\u202fItaly, France, Austria, Germany, Portugal, Brazil,\u00a0Belgium\u202fand Senegal, among other markets. \u201cThis structure will allow the company to provide a more comprehensive,\u00a0coordinated\u00a0and international service, with players and coaches across Europe\u2019s top leagues and talent competing around the world,\u201d Gersh said.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p> \tUnder the Gersh umbrella, clients will have access to \u201ca broader, more integrated offering across sport and entertainment,\u201d the partners emphasized. \u201cThis includes enhanced support in areas such as brand partnerships,\u00a0endorsements\u00a0and commercial opportunities, alongside continued high-touch representation on and off the pitch.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Said Steve Gersh, head of Gersh <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/sports\/\" id=\"auto-tag_sports_1\" data-tag=\"sports\">Sports<\/a> and managing partner at Gersh,\u00a0and Juan A\u00edsa,\u00a0the CEO of You First:\u00a0\u201cWe spent years identifying the right partners in the U.K., and in PLG we found agents who share the same passion, care and ability that define\u00a0Gersh\u00a0and You First.
