\tNBC<\/a> will not be sending The Hunting Party<\/a><\/em> out on any more excursions.<\/p>\n

\tThe network has canceled the show, a crime drama starring Melissa Roxburgh, after two seasons. The Hunting Party<\/em> was the last network scripted show awaiting word on its future; sources tell \u30cf\u30ea\u30a6\u30c3\u30c9\u30fb\u30ea\u30dd\u30fc\u30bf\u30fc<\/em> that Universal Television, which produces the series, will look to find a new home. Lisa Katz, president scripted content for NBC and Peacock, told reporters ahead of NBC\u2019s upfront in May that \u201cwe\u2019re discussing all options\u201d for The Hunting Party<\/em>. <\/p>\n

\tThe decision comes three weeks after NBC revealed its schedule<\/a> for the 2026-27 season \u2014\u00a0which did not include The Hunting Party<\/em>. At the time, network executives said they had yet to make a final decision on the show, whose linear ratings declined in season two but which received a streaming boost when its first season debuted on Netflix<\/a> in February. \t<\/p>\n

\tNBC also ordered four new scripted series<\/a> for the coming season, which squeezed out The Hunting Party<\/em>, fellow second-year drama Brilliant Minds<\/a><\/em> and rookie comedy Stumble<\/em>. <\/p>\n

\t\u201cWe have a very tight schedule. We had to look for opportunities where we could grow, so there are shows that we love that just didn\u2019t make the cut,\u201d Jeff Bader, president program planning strategy at NBC, told reporters before the upfront. He said then that NBC was still looking at The Hunting Party\u2019<\/em>s streaming performance, but \u201cit really did not perform well enough on linear\u201d to earn a third season. <\/p>\n

\tSeason two of The Hunting Party<\/em> averaged 3.7 million viewers after a week of DVR playback (and not including streaming), down 13 percent from its first season. \t<\/p>\n

\tThe Hunting Party<\/em> stars Roxburgh as a former FBI profiler who leads a team to track down the world\u2019s most dangerous killers, who have escaped from a top-secret prison that doesn\u2019t officially exist. The cast also includes Nick Weschler, Patrick\u00a0Sabongui, Josh\u00a0McKenzie\u00a0and Sara Garcia.<\/p>\n

\tJJ Bailey created the series and served as co-showrunner with Jake Coburn. They executive produce with Thor Freudenthal\u00a0and Michael Jones Morales.<\/p>\n
