\tNetflix<\/a> has renewed its Devil May Cry<\/a><\/em> animated series, an adaptation of the Capcom video games, for a third season. It will be the show\u2019s last \u2014 showrunner Adi Shankar (Castlevania<\/em>, The Grey<\/em>) says that was always the intention.<\/p>\n

\t\u201cFor those of you who have been paying attention to the episode names, I have been showing you the structure the entire time. This was always Dante\u2019s \u2018Divine Comedy\u2019 with guns and a red coat. Season 1 was Inferno. Season 2 was Purgatorio. Season 3 will be Paradiso,\u201d Shankar said. \u201cThese three seasons make up \u2018The Force Edge Saga.\u2019 Since inception, \u2018The Force Edge Saga\u2019 was designed as a movie trilogy disguised as a television series.\u201d \t<\/p>\n

\tCongrats to those of you who have been paying attention to the episode names, I suppose. Or really, to those on Reddit.<\/p>\n

\tIn Devil May Cry<\/em>, \u201csinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms,\u201d Netflix\u2019s synopsis reads. \u201cIn the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.\u201d<\/p>\n

\tSeason two of Devil May Cry<\/em>, animated by Studio Mir, premiered on May 12. Season one appeared on Netflix\u2019s Global Top 10 for four weeks, and accumulated 21.7 million views in 2025. Season two got off to a good start, but fell off the chart after its second week.<\/p>\n

\tJohnny Yong Bosch voices Dante, Robbie Daymond is Dante\u2019s nephew Vergil, and Scout Taylor-Compton voices Lady on the TV series.<\/p>\n

\tDevil May Cry<\/em> the video game launched in 2001 on PlayStation 2. Sequels followed in 2003, 2005, 2008 and 2019. A standalone reboot, DmC: Devil May Cry<\/em>, was released in 2013. Devil May Cry 3: Dante\u2019s Awakening<\/em>, was actually a prequel to its predecessors.
