Andy Ogles Tweets"},"content":{"rendered":"<article id=\"post-556526\">\n<div>\n<p><span><span>Reading Time: <\/span> <span> 3<\/span> <span>minutes<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>It is the first week of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2026\/06\/kathy-hilton-bows-out-weho-pride-trump-ties\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pride<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>An already controversial Tennessee Congressman opted to use the second day to get deeply homophobic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHomosexuality has no place in America,\u201d he declared on social media.<\/p>\n<p>The bigoted remark drew wide condemnation, including from fellow conservatives. Andy Ogles (R-TN) walks through the U.S. Capitol on February 03, 2026.<span> (Photo Credit: Heather Diehl\/Getty Images)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"h-happy-nuclear-family-month\">\u2018Happy nuclear family month\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>On Tuesday, June 2, Congressman Andy Ogles marked the second day of Pride with a deeply homophobic tweet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHomosexuality has no place in America,\u201d the Republican member of Congress from Tennessee tweeted.<\/p>\n<p>He compounded his error by writing: \u201cHappy nuclear family month.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The tweet has since been deleted, and ignited a firestorm of backlash \u2014 including from within his own party.<\/p>\n<p>Simply put, he announced that millions of Americans have no place existing in America. <\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"548\" alt=\"A light mode screenshot of a deleted tweet by Andy Ogles.\"   src=\"https:\/\/cdn.thehollywoodgossip.com\/uploads\/2026\/06\/0605_andyogles_tweet_01.png\" loading=\"lazy\" data-trellis-processed=\"1\"><figcaption>Congressman Andy Ogles would later claim that this homophobic tweet was the work of an unnamed staffer.<span> (Image Credit: Twitter)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>From the outside, the tweet looks like a shocking but not surprising fit with the rest of his social media activity.<\/p>\n<p>Most of his tweets seem to concern deporting not-white citizens in support of the Trump regime\u2019s white supremacist agenda, particularly targeting immigrants from Somalia and a few other select nations.<\/p>\n<p>Ogler\u2019s fellow Republicans seek to draw a line between outright bigotry and supposed \u201cnational security\u201d concerns.<\/p>\n<p>A baffled Senator Ted Cruz, a staunch conservative, told <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2026\/06\/02\/ted-cruz-fires-back-at-andy-ogles-homosexuality-claim\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TMZ<\/a> <\/em>that for \u201call of recorded history, homosexuals have been part of humanity. \u2026 I think the behavior of consenting adults is their business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Representative Mike Lawler commented: \u201cWhat an absolutely idiotic statement to make\u201d about Ogler\u2019s tweet, calling his colleague a \u201cf\u2013king idiot.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote data-bluesky-uri=\"at:\/\/did:plc:e4tqkvdjxqapupkv6rnb6agp\/app.bsky.feed.post\/3mnfbapnl6s25\" data-bluesky-cid=\"bafyreiguwdt2evrdbn5sfpavadza4diaqtr6dzg2dh3p2ro36sbva3kqze\" data-bluesky-embed-color-mode=\"system\">\n<div lang=\"en\">\n<p>\u201cIdiotic and offensive\u201d  Rep Mike Lawler (R-NY) on homophobic social media post by account of his colleague Rep Andy Ogles (R-TN)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/did:plc:e4tqkvdjxqapupkv6rnb6agp\/post\/3mnfbapnl6s25?ref_src=embed\">[image or embed]<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u2014 Scott MacFarlane (<a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/did:plc:e4tqkvdjxqapupkv6rnb6agp?ref_src=embed\">@macfarlanenews.bsky.social<\/a>) <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/did:plc:e4tqkvdjxqapupkv6rnb6agp\/post\/3mnfbapnl6s25?ref_src=embed\">June 3, 2026 at 9:57 AM<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2 id=\"h-the-employee-has-been-reprimanded\">\u2018The employee has been reprimanded\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>For whatever it\u2019s worth, even Ogles is walking back the statement \u2014 claiming that he didn\u2019t make it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEarlier today while working on the farm, my phone began going crazy because of a post made by a member of my comms team,\u201d he began a later <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/RepOgles\/status\/2061989226996969790\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tweet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe post was stupid, hurtful, and a complete distraction from my America First focus,\u201d he lamented.<\/p>\n<p>Ogles then claimed: \u201cThe employee has been reprimanded.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Notably, that isn\u2019t actually an apology. Famously, he claimed that a staffer was responsible. <\/p>\n<p>Hey, it\u2019s possible. Just because no one seems to believe it doesn\u2019t mean that it couldn\u2019t conceivably be true, right?<\/p>\n<p>By all accounts, Ogles \u2014 or his unnamed staffer, who may or may not exist \u2014 hoped that last year\u2019s conservative backlash against progress and decency was still going strong this year.
