\tBritish actor Bill Nighy<\/a> has signed on for a role in Caine<\/em>, Lionsgate\u2019s John Wick<\/a> spinoff being directed by martial arts master Donnie Yen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\tYen, who appeared as the titular blind assassin in John Wick: Chapter 4<\/em>, is also toplining the feature, which is now in production in Budapest and Hong Kong. <\/p>\n

\tAlso on the call sheet are Mason Thames (The Black Phone<\/em>) and Dacre Montgomery (Stranger Things<\/em>) as well as Rina Sawayama, who is reprising her role as Akira, who in Wick 4<\/em> worked in the hitman hotel that was overrun by assassins and blamed Caine for the death of her father. \t<\/p>\n

\tMattson Tomlin, writer of the upcoming\u202fThe Batman Part II\u202f<\/em>and the adaptation of the Keanu Reeves-created comic book BRZRKR<\/em>, wrote the script with Michael McGrale.<\/p>\n

\tThe story follows the events of Wick 4<\/em>, with Caine having been freed from his\u202fobligations to\u202fThe High Table, the council that runs a global empire controlled by the elite crime families. But, guess what? Just when he thought he was out\u2026<\/p>\n

\tProducing the feature are Wick<\/em> stalwarts Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee of Thunder Road shingle, and John Wick <\/em>filmmaker Chad Stahelski, who\u202fproduces through his 87Eleven Entertainment production banner. John Wick himself, Keanu Reeves is also producing as is John Saunders will also produce.<\/p>\n

\tYen is an executive producer on the project along with Courtney Brock.<\/p>\n

\tNighy is one of the more recognizable British thespians of stage and screen known for his breakout work in Love Actually<\/em>, romantic drama About Time<\/em>, and the Underworld<\/em> movies. This summer he will be seen in\u00a0the series Ride or Die<\/em>\u00a0opposite Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham and will star opposite Helena Bonham Carter in Hugo Blick\u2019s California Avenue<\/em>\u00a0for the BBC. \t<\/p>\n
