West Wilson did not appear as remorseful as viewers had hoped during the Summer House<\/em> Season 10 reunion<\/a>.<\/p>\n

And there may have been a pharmaceutical reason for that.<\/p>\n

Host Andy Cohen was quick to clock that West seemed more sedated than usual:<\/p>\n

\u201cNo offense, but are you on a bunch of beta blockers or what?\u201d Andy asked point blank, prompting West to reply, \u201cI did take a beta blocker\u2026 I apologize that I don\u2019t read emotional enough.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to West, the medication helped him remain composed while facing hours of criticism over his controversial romance with Amanda Batula<\/a> and the fallout it caused among the cast.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for him, Ciara Miller wasn\u2019t buying that explanation.<\/p>\n

Not only is Ciara West\u2019s ex and one of the people most hurt by his relationship with Amanda, she\u2019s also a registered nurse. <\/p>\n

Which means she wasn\u2019t exactly impressed by the sudden attempt to blame pharmaceuticals for West\u2019s apparent lack of emotion.<\/p>\n

Taking to social media shortly after the reunion aired, Ciara offered what she called a \u201cmedical note\u201d for anyone confused about how beta blockers actually work.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust a medical note: beta blockers DON\u2019T remove emotion,\u201d the registered nurse\u00a0wrote via Threads\u00a0<\/a>Tuesday night after part three of the reunion aired on Bravo.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey work by blocking adrenaline from binding to beta receptors in your heart, blood vessels, and muscles (the receptors responsible for the physical symptoms of anxiety like increased heart rate, raised blood pressure, and trembling),\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCE remains, but the physical stress response can\u2019t fully activate. It\u2019s like putting your \u201cfight or flight\u201d symptoms on DND\u2026. enough with the beta blocker bulls\u2014t.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans quickly rallied behind Ciara online, praising her for shutting down what they viewed as a flimsy excuse. Others pointed out that West\u2019s unemotional reunion performance only fueled criticism that he still doesn\u2019t fully grasp the damage caused by his relationship with Amanda.<\/p>\n

The reunion has largely revolved around the secret romance between West and Amanda, which left both Ciara and Amanda\u2019s estranged husband Kyle Cooke feeling blindsided. Cast members have repeatedly questioned the couple\u2019s timeline<\/a>, while friendships throughout the house have seemingly imploded in real time.<\/p>\n
