\tThe world is falling apart in the first look at The Big Bang Theory<\/a><\/em> spinoff series Stuart Fails to Save the Universe<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n

\tCastmembers Kevin Sussman, Lauren Lapkus<\/a>, Brian Posehn and John Ross Bowie took the stage at CCXP Mexico<\/a> City to tease their project that combines comedy with sci-fi and is set to begin streaming on HBO Max<\/a> in July. Along with debuting images that can be seen above and below, the panel revealed that musician Danny Elfman<\/a> will create an original theme song for the series. <\/p>\n

\tStuart Fails to Save the Universe<\/em> centers on Sussman as comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, who was introduced on the CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory<\/em> when his pals Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) would visit the shop. The new program features Stuart doing his best to restore reality after he breaks a device that Sheldon and Leonard had built, which inadvertently causes a multiverse armageddon. \t<\/p>\n

\tPosehn told fans from the stage about the title character, \u201cThe fun is watching him fail every week.\u201d Sussman added that viewers will get to learn more about Stuart\u2019s romance with Lapkus\u2019 character: \u201cWhen The Big Bang Theory<\/em> ended, our relationship was just budding, and now you can see where it goes.\u201d <\/p>\n

\tJoining Stuart\u2019s quest are his girlfriend, Denise (Lapkus); geologist buddy Bert (Posehn); and irritating quantum physicist Barry Kripke (Bowie). Their path will see them meet alternate-universe versions of characters from The Big Bang Theory<\/em>, which signed off in 2019 after 12 seasons.<\/p>\n

\tSussman notes that Stuart \u201ctakes on a leadership role in this\u201d but warns, \u201cHe\u2019s not very good at it.\u201d The actor adds about his onscreen counterpart, \u201cI do my best, but really, I\u2019m way out of my comfort zone.\u201d \t<\/p>\n

\tHBO Max\u2019s Instagram account posted<\/a> in a caption alongside the show\u2019s stills: \u201cIf at first you don\u2019t succeed, try in another multiverse.\u201d<\/p>\n

\tStuart Fails to Save the Universe<\/em> counts Chuck Lorre<\/a>, Zak Penn and Bill Prady<\/a> as creators, writers and executive producers. The series hails from Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\tThe Big Bang Theory<\/em> previously spawned fellow spinoff Young Sheldon<\/em>, which signed off in 2024 after seven seasons.
