Last week, Queen Elizabeth II would have celebrated her 100th birthday.<\/p>\n

Several UK media outlets marked the occasion with retrospectives on the late monarch\u2019s life as well as new reportage on her final days.<\/p>\n

The magazine Air Mail <\/a><\/em>ran perhaps the most scandalous piece for the Queen\u2019s centennial, with journalist Craig Brown making a surprising claim about Elizabeth\u2019s view of the marriage between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.<\/p>\n

In a piece titled \u201cThe Strange Afterlife of Queen Elizabeth II,\u201d Brown alleges that Elizabeth had no doubt that Harry and Meghan\u2019s marriage would end in divorce<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not a matter of if,\u201d she allegedly remarked to an associate at one point, \u201cit\u2019s a matter of when.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brown added that he was informed of the Queen\u2019s comments \u201ca year or two ago,\u201d but decided to keep it under wraps until now.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s no secret that Meghan didn\u2019t always get along with Harry\u2019s family.<\/p>\n

In fact, the feud between Meghan and Kate Middleton<\/a> is the stuff of legend at this point.<\/p>\n

But the Queen was always said to be one of Meghan\u2019s biggest supporters within the Windsor clan, so the news that she was so pessimistic about Harry\u2019s marriage comes as somewhat of a surprise.<\/p>\n

Then again, Elizabeth prioritized duty and tradition over just about everything else in life, so perhaps we shouldn\u2019t be totally shocked that she was no great fan of the romance that eventually led Harry to step away from Royal life.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the Air Mail <\/em>piece, Brown revisited his previous claim that the Queen was also not a fan of President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, I heard always the opposite. I heard I was her favorite president. She would say it to a lot of people, she said it to friends of mine that \u2018President Trump was my favorite president\u2019 \u2026 We had an unbelievable relationship,\u201d Trump shot back at his initial report.<\/p>\n

But as Brown notes, Barack Obama later corroborated his claims about Elizabeth\u2019s feelings toward the president.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy is this person so close to running your country?\u201d she reportedly asked Obama in 2016.<\/p>\n

The Queen was known for her stiff upper lip and her \u201cnever complain, never explain\u201d approach to life.<\/p>\n
