\tJimmy Kimmel<\/a> fired back at Trump\u2019s Thursday comments<\/a> encouraging ABC to fire the late night host \u201csoon\u201d during the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/em><\/p>\n

\tDuring the monologue for Thursday night\u2019s episode, a screenshot of the president\u2019s Truth Social post was shown, which reads, \u201cWhen is ABC Fake News Network firing seriously unfunny Jimmy Kimmel, who incompetently presides over one of the Lowest Rated shows on Television? People are angry. It better be soon!!!\u201d <\/p>\n

\t\u201cIf incompetently presiding over not just one of, but the lowest rating in history is the reason I should be fired, we should both be out of a job,\u201d he said, as a photo of a headline stating Trump<\/a>\u2018s approval ratings had slipped came on screen, continuing, \u201cBecause you\u2019re not doing too good either.\u201d \t<\/p>\n

\tKimmel also later argued that Trump\u2019s outrage towards him was to serve as a distraction for more pressing political topics.<\/p>\n

\t\u201cAnd of course, all of this is is meant to distract us from the prices he didn\u2019t lower on day one, and from the Trump-Epstein files that his attorney general refuses to release, and to distract us from the illegal war he started and can\u2019t figure out how to get out of,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

\tThe latest feud between Kimmel and Trump errupted following comments the former made at a faux White House Correspondents\u2019 he hosted on his late night show. Last Thursday, before the WHCD took place, Kimmel poked fun at the event,\u00a0sharing jokes<\/a>\u00a0for his own dinner. He addressed the First Lady by noting, \u201cLook at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.\u201d \t<\/p>\n

\tAfter the\u00a0shooting<\/a>\u00a0at Saturday\u2019s WHCD, Donald and Melania Trump both\u00a0called for<\/a>\u00a0the late night host to be fired from\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/em>\u00a0for the joke. However, during the Monday episode of his show, Kimmel\u00a0did not apologize<\/a>\u00a0for what he called a \u201clight roast\u201d remark and pushed back on Melania and the president\u2019s request: \u201cYou know how sometimes you wake up in the morning and the first lady puts out a statement demanding you be fired from your job? We\u2019ve all been there, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

\tThe FCC then launched an early review of Disney\u2018s broadcast TV licenses on Tuesday. However, a Disney spokesperson\u00a0told\u00a0THR<\/em><\/a>\u00a0they were \u201cconfident that record demonstrates our continued qualifications as licensees under the Communications Act and the First Amendment and are prepared to show that through the appropriate legal channels. Our focus remains, as always, on serving viewers in the local communities where our stations operate.\u201d<\/p>\n

\tKimmel continued to address Trump\u2019s latest comments: \u201cHe also called into Newsmax this afternoon to call me a low life and demand I be fired again. This guy is so mad, you would think I posted a picture of seashells or something. Isn\u2019t there a war dragging on? Imagine if FDR had taken to the airwaves during the Battle of the Bulge to complain about a Little Orphan Annie comic strip he didn\u2019t like? Trump has three wars going on right now; Iranians, Ukrainians and comedians.\u201d <\/p>\n

\tKimmel also noted that during \u201cthe campaign for president, there was a man, a very prominent Republican man, who seemed to be against this idea of muzzling people you don\u2019t agree with.\u201d He then showed a clip of Trump saying he was against \u201ccensorship, blacklisting and cancel culture.\u201d \t<\/p>\n

\tThe late night host responded, \u201cI hate to say this, and I hope it doesn\u2019t get me in trouble, I\u2019m starting to think\u00a0\u30c9\u30ca\u30eb\u30c9\u30fb\u30c8\u30e9\u30f3\u30d7<\/a>\u00a0might be a hypocrite.\u201d <\/p>\n

\tKimmel also pushed back<\/a>\u00a0against Trump on Tuesday\u2019s episode of\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/a>,<\/em>\u00a0slamming the president for a joke he made at an event tied to the state visit by England\u2019s King Charles. In the president\u2019s speech, he recalled how his parents were married for 63 years, and told his wife, \u201cThat\u2019s a record we won\u2019t be able to match, darling. It\u2019s just not gonna work out that way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\t\u201cWait a minute. Did he just make a joke about his death?\u201d Kimmel joked during his monologue on Tuesday. \u201cMy God, you should be fired for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
