Late last year, Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt <\/a>welcomed their first child.<\/p>\n

The couple seemed blissfully happy at the time, but now, multiple reputable outlets are reporting that they\u2019re sorting through some \u201cissues.\u201d<\/p>\n

People<\/em> \u2014 a magazine with a long and well-deserved reputation for accurate reporting \u2014 was the first to report on the alleged trouble in paradise.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are issues, but they\u2019re trying to figure things out together,\u201d a source tells the outlet<\/a>. \u201cThey\u2019re adjusting to parenthood and working through the process.\u201d<\/p>\n

The gossip site Deux Moi has taken things a step further, alleging that Pete and Elsie \u201care currently spending time apart.\u201d<\/p>\n

News of the relationship troubles comes as a shock, as Pete has gushed about the joys of family life in numerous previous interviews.<\/p>\n

\u201cDad life is f\u2013king awesome,\u201d Davidson told People<\/em> in March.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is exhausting and rewarding and cute. And I\u2019m very lucky because Elsie is a fantastic mom, and I can\u2019t stress enough how lucky I am.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davidson also opened up about the darker side of being a parent, admitting that his protective feelings sometimes led him to be overly defensive.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s funny. It\u2019s like I didn\u2019t understand this. You\u2019re just ready to fight anyone,\u201d Davidson said at the time. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s like, chill out. No one\u2019s doing anything to your kid,\u201d he continued, adding:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have this overly protective like\u2026if one paparazzi guy pops out I\u2019m going to f\u2013king beat the living s\u2013t out of him. So that\u2019s a weird gear because I\u2019m not a fighter guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

For her part, Elsie has also had nothing but good things to say about the joys and challenges of mom life.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy Scottie girl is 12 weeks old today. On the way to the hospital we wrote down our predictions for what time she\u2019d be born,\u201d Hewitt wrote on Instagram back in March.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy guess was 3:05pm (my birthday, 03\/05). After 23 hours of labor, that is the exact time she arrived. How crazy and cool is that.\u201d<\/p>\n
