The film stars Yuki Katayama, Lily Franky, Tsuyoshi Ujiki, Keiko Takeshita, Kayoko Kishimoto and Issey Ogata.  \t<\/p>\n<p> \tTaking the 2026 Silver Mulberry, FEFF\u2019s second most coveted audience award, was Kim Jong-woo, Kim Shin-wan and Cho Chul-young\u2019s searing documentary, <em>The Seoul Guardians<\/em>. The film captures that surreal events of Dec. 3, 2024, when people in Seoul hit the streets to protest the stunning declaration of martial law by embattled President Yoon Suk Yeol. <em>The Seoul Guardians<\/em> has received high praise from critics for its immersive retelling of one of the most bizarre and also uplifting moments in South Korea\u2019s history. <em>The Seoul Guardians<\/em> shared FEFF\u2019s Black Dragon critics prize with <em>Fujiko<\/em>. <\/p>\n<figure>\n<p> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Seoul Guardians | FEFF28 Trailer\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" data-cookieconsent=\"statistics, marketing\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/whI6AgirIsE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><div class=\"cookieconsent-optout-statistics cookieconsent-optout-marketing\">\u53d7\u3051\u5165\u308c\u3066\u304f\u3060\u3055\u3044 <a href=\"javascript:Cookiebot.renew()\">statistics, marketing<\/a> \u3053\u306e\u52d5\u753b\u3092\u8996\u8074\u3059\u308b\u306b\u306f\u30af\u30c3\u30ad\u30fc\u304c\u5fc5\u8981\u3067\u3059\u3002.<\/div> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p> \tThe third place Crystal Mulberry was rather unexpectedly shared between four films \u2014 <em>Blades of the Guardians: Wind Rises in the Desert<\/em> by Yuen Woo-ping; <em>My Name<\/em> by Chung Ji-young; <em>Tunnels: Sun in the Dark<\/em> by Bui Thac Chuyen; and <em>The King\u2019s Warden<\/em> by Chang Hang-jun.<\/p>\n<p> \tElsewhere, the jury-decided White Mulberry prize, given to the best debut film, was awarded to <em>Unidentified Murder<\/em> by Kwok Ka-hei and Jack Lee, with a special mention for <em>The Seoul Guardians.<\/em> The Mulberry for best screenplay award went to <em>Tunnels: Sun in the Dark<\/em>, with a special mention for Anthony Chen\u2019s <em>We Are All Strangers.<\/em>  \t<\/p>\n<p> \tThis year\u2019s FEFF Golden Mulberry Award for Lifetime Achievement were awarded to legendary Japanese actor Koji Yakusho and hugely influential Hong Kong filmmaker and martial arts choreographer Yuen Woo-ping. Chinese actress Fan Bingbing received the Golden Mulberry for outstanding achievement. <\/p>\n<p> \tAccording to the FEFF organizers, the 2026 edition of the festival saw 75 films screened, including eight world premieres, 18 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/t\/international\/\" id=\"auto-tag_international_1\" data-tag=\"international\">international<\/a> premieres, 21 European premieres and 20 Italian premieres from 12 countries. The festival says it saw an uptick in visitors over last year, with approximately 70,000 people visiting the various FEFF screenings and events.<\/p>\n<p> \t\u201cWe had superstars of Asian cinema and we had blockbusters.
